Do you like spas and massages and of course not forgetting some good food to go with it? Overtime when I had a long week and yearning for a good day’s break This is a good place to go to. Tucked inside an old building along Guillemard road, G.Spa is the place for you to indulge in great food and rejuvenate using their various facilities and services.
Open 24hrs, you will not have to be deprived of a good massage and rest when you dearly needed one and guess what? You’re entitled up to a 24hrs stay in the premises and iEatTravel here will show you what are to great eats to indulge in as well as a little stay here with your other half. G.Spa welcomes both sexes where they are facilities like the Hot & Cold pools, Steam rooms, Saunas and even relaxation lounges where you can catch up with your favourite movies which you have missed it during theatre showings.
If you fancy some services from G.Spa, they have a variety of packages and massage services for everyone. From the usual massages in their massage rooms and they even offer couple rooms for a more intimate and private massage experience, they even have treatment rooms for body scrubs or facial or foot massages. I have not tried any of the packages only the basics massage and I would say it is fairly soothing and relaxing. Go on and look up for a package to your desire and enjoy the many facilities at the spa.
My focus here is of course the food! And food is one of the main reason that brought me here. G.Spa’s all day buffet-style dining experience is unique for spas in Singapore. There is a gourmet selection of local delights to whet any appetite. They also have a daily special where you can actually try out two different kinds of speciality if you’re planning to stay for 24hrs in the spa (which I didn't do that). The dining area is cosy and comfortable where if you're going there with a group, they have seats available to accommodate at least 4 to a table and the environment is relaxed. Magazines, newspapers, televisions are available in this area and if you’re just a mobile gadget addict, there is free wifi for you to surf your social pages and also log on to iEatTravel.com when you’re there. :P
Fish soup with bee hoon is a healthy choice if you’re not looking for something too have before your massage commences. Tasty soup with generous vegetables and yummy fried fish will get you hooked and almost asking for another bowl (but don't forget you might have a massage after this). A huge variety of hot and cold drinks available which you will be spoilt for choice. I don't fancy the some of the juices which tastes artificial to me. How about western food?
Gourmet burger or a club sandwich which will make you drool as you savour each bite of it. I think the key ingredient to these is freshness but I’m quite disappointed with the gourmet burger (which I thought must be something different or I don't know, maybe fancy?). Its like a fish fillet burger where we can get it at some western stalls in the coffeeshops but its tasty though don't get me wrong but the gourmet spoils my image of the burger.
What else do they have and since they offer you a 24hrs stay, this cant be it right? Their specials for the day was Fish and chips, nicely breaded fried fish fillet and potato wedges. I love the crunch on the criss fillet and soft tender flaky fish in it. Their local delights is something which you can look out for. Lontong is okie to order if you’re a fan of it and how about Char Kway Teow (literally "stir-fried ricecake strips”) which I think is a another dish which I don't mind ordering a second time. Just that I wish that they could have use pork lard to fry it and the smell will be gorgeous!
Then comes the heavy duty. If you’ve done your massages and after all the usage of the facilities, you can consider the nasi lemak. A good serving of side to go with the fragrant rice. They have Ikan bilis with peanuts (fried anchovies), an egg, luncheon meat (pan fried spam) and fried chicken wing. Its heavenly (if you’re lucky, the chicken wings are just being fried and its crispy and tender.) and its a must to order when you’re there and of course, please take note of your food intake before your massages or using any facilities and I’m sure the staffs (as well as the patrons) would not want to encounter a Merlion here at G.Spa.
Its only me and myself to try out as many food as possible to share wth you what they can offer. Do go and try out and share with me your experience and also the daily special during your visit! Enjoy and relax ya~~
